How this started

Amanda Cleaning Service began the way most good small businesses do — one person, a car full of supplies, and a handful of neighbours in Hudson who needed help and kept recommending her to other people. There was no business plan and no investor. There was a lot of driving.

What we noticed early on, cleaning homes around Pasco County, was that most people had already tried somebody else first. They had used a national franchise and got a different crew every fortnight who never learned the house. Or they had found someone cheap online who was excellent for two months and then stopped answering the phone. Almost nobody was genuinely happy with their cleaner, which is a strange thing to be true about a service people pay for every week.

So we built the business around fixing that specific thing. Same cleaner each visit. Prices published on the website instead of hidden behind a quote form. Actual availability in the evenings and at weekends, because a nine-to-five cleaning company is not much use to people who work nine to five. And no contracts at all — if we stop earning it, you should be able to leave the same day.

What “no job is too small” actually means

It is on our flyer and we mean it literally. We clean 3,500 square foot homes in Champions Club and we clean one-bedroom villas in Holiday, and we do not treat those jobs differently. We have cleaned a single bathroom before a family visit. We have done a kitchen only, because that was what the budget allowed that month. We have opened up a snowbird’s house the morning before their flight landed.

If you are embarrassed about the state of the place, please do not be. We have genuinely seen it all, we are not judging, and honestly the messier jobs are the satisfying ones.

Day and night hours — why we bother

Most cleaning companies work banker’s hours, which quietly excludes a lot of people. Offices cannot be cleaned during business hours. Vacation rentals turn over between a late checkout and an early check-in. And plenty of households simply do not want a stranger in the house while they are at work.

So we work early mornings, evenings, weekends and overnight where it is needed. It is not a marketing line — it is a substantial part of why our commercial and short-term rental customers came to us in the first place.

The boring but important part

We carry liability insurance, and we will send a certificate to any commercial client, landlord or property manager who needs one on file. Everyone who works in a customer home is background-checked before their first visit. We bring our own supplies, equipment and vacuums, and we replace them when they wear out rather than nursing a dying machine around your carpets.

We also handle payroll properly — taxes, workers compensation, the lot. It is part of why we are not the cheapest option in the market, and we think it is worth being upfront about that rather than pretending our prices are magic.

What we do not do

Being clear about the edges of a service is more useful than pretending there are none. We do not handle exterior windows above the second storey, roof or gutter work, pest control, mold remediation, biohazard or crime scene cleanup, or carpet shampooing and pressure washing (though our lanai soft washing covers most of what people want there). We also will not move heavy furniture — we clean around and underneath where we can reach safely.

For anything on that list we can usually point you to someone local who does it well. Asking us is free and we would rather you got the right person than the available one.
